On the 5th November, up and coming UK band Electrasy took Northampton’s Roadmender by storm. The venue may have been small, but for the audience this made their blasting indie-rock all the more enjoyable. Starting with their debut single “Lost In Space”, they played most of their current album and also treated the listeners to sneak previews of tracks from their next one. (more…)
The Clinton scandal is causing unexpected headaches for TV producers far beyond the news shows. Martha Stewart reportedly dumped a show about a luncheon she’d prepared for the president rather than show the world her gift to him — a monogrammed bed pillow. (more…)
Ready for the Vernal Equinox? After a long winter with many challenging planetary aspects, the Sun enters fiery, impulsive Aries, the first sign of the zodiac, on the 20th. But even before the Sun leaves watery Pisces, many of us will get hit with a dose of Spring Fever… (more…)
There is no moral neutrality on this issue. At the start of a new century we should never again repeat the horrors of the last century, where more people were murdered by their own totalitarian leaders — Hitler, Stalin, Mao, among many others — than by any foreign power. I hope no one has misunderstood my feelings toward the property revaluation.
Just because I think the revaluation was done properly and honestly does not mean I think it is wonderful. I’m coming to realize more everyday just how sad this whole thing might turn out to be. It became even more clear Thursday night at the meeting to discuss the matter in Banner Elk. And, surprisingly enough, some of my understanding was helped along by the same Fliman Anderson about whom I have had very little nice to say in months past.
